Recall a time you experienced the joy of being outside — the forest, the beach, a meadow. What did you touch, see, hear, and smell? Nature restores us. It boosts our whole self: mind, body, and spirit.

Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to make the time. Flybird guides you on the path to wellness by providing structured, easy experiences in nature.

Screen time has increased exponentially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even during “normal” times, our youth spend up to 92% of their day indoors and experience rising mental health challenges, especially anxiety and depression.

Spending regular time outdoors is a necessary antidote. Scientific research shows that being in nature lowers stress and improves physical and mental wellness. Consider these examples:

  • After walking in nature, people’s stress blood pressure and cortisol levels (stress hormone) decrease. (Ewert and Chang, 2018)

  • Play in nature helps children develop the capacities for creativity, problem-solving, and emotional and intellectual development. (Kellert, 2005)

  • After walking in a park, children with ADHD were able to concentrate close to the levels of children without ADHD, or to children who had taken ADHD medication. (Faber Taylor and Kuo, 2008)
